Youthseed Project
Online Intercultural Exchange Program for Elementary and Middle School Students

Scheduled to Launch in 2025

The Youthseed Project is an online collaboration program that utilizes ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to connect students from different countries. It provides a platform for Japanese middle school students and international students to learn about each other’s cultures and languages through platforms like Zoom and Teams.

In this project, students will meet online, engage in language exchange learning, and share insights about their respective school lives and cultures. By harnessing the power of technology, we create opportunities for young people to connect directly, transcending geographical distances.

The main objective of this project is to deepen international understanding and cooperation through communication between students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Additionally, by experiencing different cultures, we aim to cultivate new perspectives and empathy, fostering the development of individuals with a global outlook.

By collaborating on tasks, students with diverse perspectives develop their logical and critical thinking skills, fostering the ability to discover creative solutions.

Through intercultural exchange, new ideas and perspectives are stimulated, bringing out the creativity of the students. By advancing the project with free thinking, opportunities for self-expression are also expanded.

By cultivating a global perspective, students deepen their understanding of world issues and develop a sense of awareness as global citizens.

By experiencing the cultures and customs of other countries, students deepen their understanding of different values and cultivate a global perspective. This enables them to appreciate the importance of empathy and cooperation in the international community.

Engaging with students from different countries provides opportunities to enhance practical language skills. Through everyday conversations and presentations, students can naturally learn vocabulary and grammar.

By overcoming language barriers and engaging with students from various countries, practical communication skills are enhanced. This experience is particularly beneficial for language learning and presentation abilities.

ABout ICT?

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) refers to the technologies used to process and communicate information using computers and the internet. ICT encompasses a comprehensive range of technologies, including hardware, software, and networks, aimed at efficiently collecting, processing, sharing, and communicating information. It is widely utilized across various fields, including education, business, healthcare, and entertainment, playing a crucial role, particularly in international communication and collaboration.

In the Youthseed Project, ICT enables Japanese middle school students to connect online with students from abroad, facilitating real-time intercultural exchanges. In this way, ICT bridges geographical distances, providing new opportunities for learning and interaction.
